About Us

Who We Are

Jenkins Farms is a family farm owned an operated by David and Catherine Jenkins. Aside from our family, we share the farm with our half-jacks, a few livestock guardian dogs, farm cats, a couple of donkeys and our elderly horse.

Where We Are Located

The farm is located in northern Meriwether County, Georgia on a sleepy dirt road, just one hour south of Atlanta. Although you may think we are biased to say that we live on one of the prettiest farms in Georgia.

What We Produce

We have three main enterprises at Jenkins Farms:

  1. Angus Cattle
  2. Kiko Goats
  3. Bermuda Hay

You can get more information about each enterprise in the pages listed in the menu above.

Why We Do It

David grew up farming and found out its in his blood. After a career in the U.S. Army flying Chinook helicopters in multiple combat tours David retired. David and Cat then found an old farm in Meriwether County, Georgia and moved there to be close to family. With hard work they turned the old farm into a working farm and have been raising goats since 2011.

The International Harvester is a workhorse on the farm.

Why We Do It

David grew up farming and found out he couldn’t get away from it. After a career in the Army flying Chinook helicopters and multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan he and his wife Cat found an old homestead that needed some work. David is a 5th generation farmer and his descendants trace their land holdings back to treaties with native Americans. In fact, David inherited the foundation Kiko goat herd from his father. David continues to serve his community by flying helicopters with an air ambulance company.

Cat met David while serving in the Army. Cat’s family also had a history of farming but her dad got a scholarship so he would never have step foot in a chicken house again. Since getting into farm life Cat has put her horticultural gloves on by starting an orchard on the farm and experimenting with different fruits and fermented beverages. When Cat is not working on the farm she has a busy law practice in estate planning.

Here, at Jenkins Farms we farm to develop animals that thrive in the southeast. Our cattle and goats are grass fed with minimal supplemental grain to keep them used to working with people. We provide nutritional mineral supplements and expect our animals to do well in our environment.
